Reformation Festivals 2017
Dear Oklahoma District LCMS Churches,
The year is here! The time to celebrate our heritage and the blessing we were given the benefit of 500 years ago – the Reformation.
For many months now, a team of dedicated volunteers from the Oklahoma District Central Region LC-MS churches has been meeting to plan a grand worship celebration for this occasion. And you, and all the members of your congregations and communities are invited to join us.
We are calling our celebration the 500th Anniversary Reformation Festival Worship Service and it will be held on October 29, 2017 at 4:00pm at Messiah Lutheran Church in Oklahoma City. The service will feature our favorite hymns by Martin Luther, a 100+ voice regional choir, instrumentalists of all kinds and Guest preacher Dr. Peter Scaer from Concordia Theological Seminary Fort Wayne.
Please find attached for your benefit and usage -
posters, bulletin inserts and graphics for this special event to use in your congregations and communities as you see is best. There are other great, more generic reformation resources at https://lutheranreformation.org/media-videos-podcasts/reformation-500-congregation-resource-kit/ that are available as well.
If you have any questions, concerns or need additional assistance on communicating this event, please don’t hesitate to contact me. We can’t wait to see everyone here!
Peace in Christ,
